We’re in this together.

Tiny Tides was launched with the intention of providing clients with an approachable and supportive arena for navigating parenthood in the early years.

With a master’s in child development, Whitney offers a comprehensive understanding of how children develop, learn, and thrive in the first eight years of life. Her goal at Tiny Tides is to offer valuable and reassuring advice in a setting that resonates with each client.  With you being the expert on your child and Whitney being an expert in child development, her intention is to partner in unison to best support the individual child’s needs and the role you play in that. Modern parenting can be overwhelming at times with an inordinate amount of information presented to us on the internet and in literature.  At Tiny Tides, the goal is to work towards peace in parenthood and to help you create the vision you dream of for your family.

About Whitney Ellis

Whitney has an extensive background working with families and children, primarily in the early education sector.  It is after years spent teaching kindergarten and preschool that Whitney realized her most beloved times were spent connecting with parents - providing them little snippets of their child’s day or offering advice when it seemed like parents were fighting an uphill battle at home.  Prior to starting Tiny Tides, Whitney served as Director of the Great Pacific Child Development Center for Patagonia, Inc. in Ventura, CA, and as Co-Director of Stretch the Imagination, a Reggio-inspired school in San Francisco.  Whitney also ran parent-child classes at Bright Start Child Development Center in Santa Barbara and coached teachers on the Reggio-Emilia theory and practice.  She received a master’s degree from Erikson Institute in Chicago, and has advanced her learning through training in mindfulness, studying the Reggio-Emilia philosophy both in the States and Italy, and through Responsive Classroom, which balances academic and social-emotional learning in the classroom. Whitney is based in California with her husband and three children.
